Advanced Diploma of Music


This qualification is part of the Music Training Package. Students will learn advanced music theory and solo and ensemble performance techniques. They will develop the skills to make technical, creative, conceptual and managerial judgements for the music performance industry. Knowledge and skills may be specialised or broad and students will refine their musical and teamwork skills for both solo and group performances. Students may choose electives in either performance or electronica.

Entry Requirements:

Diploma of Music, Diploma of Sound Production or Diploma of Music Business or equivalent; OR ACT Year 12 Certificate or equivalent with English and Year 10 level Maths; OR be Mature Age and have basic computing skills and ability to perform basic operations using a word processing package AND demonstrate at audition interest/involvement, skills and experience in the music field, such as Year 11 and 12 music study or instrument tuition.


15 units: 3 core; 7 specialist; 5 elective

Specialist: Produce sound recordings; Research and apply concepts and theories of creativity; Provide tuition for composition; Prepare compositions for publishing; Analyse harmony; Refine performance techniques and expand repertoire; plus more and electives
