Certificate II in Parks and Gardens

TAFE NSW

This qualification is part of the Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management Training Package. It provides an occupational outcome in parks and gardens. The parks and gardens industry expects this qualification to be achieved to meet job outcomes at this level.

Entry Requirements:

Year 10 or equivalent, industry employment and registration with an Australian Apprenticeship Centre prior to enrolment

Structure:

15 units: 9 core; 6 elective

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Participate in WHS processes; Apply chemicals under supervision; Assist with pressurised irrigation operations; Operate basic machinery and equipment; Assist with soil or growing media sampling and testing; Treat weeds; Recognise plants; plus more. Electives: Undertake operational maintenance of machinery; Apply a range of treatments to trees; Prune shrubs and small trees; Conduct visual inspection of park facilities; plus more.
