TAFE NSW

This qualification is part of the Business Services Training Package. It reflects the role of individuals who use well developed skills and a broad knowledge base in a wide variety of contexts. They apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others.

Entry Requirements:

Certificate III in Information and Cultural Services; Relevant vocational experience

Structure:

15 units: 6 core; 9 elective

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Use and respect copyright; Lead team effectiveness; Deliver and monitor a service to customers; Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs to meet legislative requirements; Consolidate and maintain industry knowledge; Provide multimedia support. Elective: Complete a range of cataloguing activities; Use integrated library management systems; Obtain information from external and networked sources; Assess the significance of collection objects; Work with cultural material; Design and develop interpretive displays; Review and maintain a website; Coordinate production of brochures and marketing materials; plus more.

Study Pathways:

Upon completion of this course, students can apply for advanced standing in the Diploma of Library/Information Services and relevant university courses.
