This short course will require students to undertake an in-depth analysis of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education in Australia, specifically early years education. Students will examine Australian histories and make connections between government policy and current Indigenous issues. Students will develop a focus on reconciliation and explore strategies for future improvement in social justice and equity in Australia. The course will be delivered over 12 weeks requiring attendance at lectures and tutorials as well as private study to meet course outcomes.Students who complete this short course will be eligible for advanced standing if they choose to continue their studies and enrol in the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Care (Birth-5).
