This qualification describes the skills and knowledge of a baker who bakes bread, cake, pastry and biscuit products working in a commercial baking environment.All work must be carried out to comply with workplace procedures, in accordance with State/Territory food safety, and work health and safety, regulations and legislation that apply to the workplace.No occupational licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

**ADDITIONAL RESOURCES**You will need to provide for yourself the following resources which you will keep when you complete your study:- Chef's / baker's full uniform (traditional check trousers, heavy duty white bib apron, double breasted white short sleeved jacket, blue neckerchief, white buttons, white skull cap - baret) approximately: $80.00- Safety footwear, approximately: $60.00- Tools of the trade (including digital thermometer, calculator, bread and scoring knife, metal and 1/2 moon scraper, scissors, 2 x clean tea towels and ruler) approximately: $160.00- Pen, paper and USB

**ADDITIONAL RESOURCES**You will need to provide for yourself the following resources which you will keep when you complete your study:- Purchase a Bakery student uniform that includes traditional check trousers, heavy duty white bib apron, double breasted white short sleeved jacket, blue neckerchief, white buttons, white skull cap (beret) and protective footwear.- Equipment which is a toolbox that includes a digital thermometer, calculator, bread and scoring knife, metal and half moon scraper, scissors, 2 x clean tea towels and ruler.- All student will need access to a computer and internet access to undertake online components. If the student does not have access to a computer and internet then TAFE NSW can make arrangements to access these resources at the TAFE NSW Library.
