This qualification reflects the role of individuals employed as make-up artists to design and apply make-up for a range of purposes and occasions across the beauty, fashion, media and entertainment industries. These individuals possess a range of well-developed technical and consultation skills where discretion and judgement is required and are responsible for their own outputs. This includes working cooperatively with a range of individuals including photographers, fashion stylists and media production staff. Work is typically conducted as part of a team or on a freelance basis in settings such as make-up studios, retail cosmetic counters, fashion and media sets and photography studios. No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

The cost for specialist equipment for this course is approximately $100 which you will retain on completion of your training.- Students are also required to wear closed in protective footwear and plain black pants or black skirt below the knee. **ADDITIONAL RESOURCES** You will need to purchase specialist equipment in order to develop your skills outside of your scheduled class times. A detailed student equipment lists will be provided to you prior to course orientation and discussed on your first day of training, along with suggested industry suppliers. The cost of your specialist equipment required for practice of your make-up skills is approximately $700, this is to include an airbrush machine, make-up kit and brushes which you retain on completion of your training. Students are also required to wear closed in protective footwear, plain black pants and black polo shirt.

Campuses: Northern Beaches Campus.

**ADDITIONAL RESOURCES**You will need to provide for yourself the following resources which you will keep when you complete your study:- Essential equipment that will be required to complete this course is 1 make up kit which has an approximate cost of $300 to $500 depending on your choice of kit. The make up kits become the physical property of the student, are retained by the student on completion of training and are not consumed during the training. These kits are purchased directly from the manufacturer at trade price, this will be further discussed at the information session and also in your first class. Additionally, students will also have an opportunity to participate in a final assessment photoshoot. There is a TAFE allocated photographer with an approximate cost of $150 or students may choose to source a photographer of their choice.

Campuses: Port Macquarie Campus.

**ADDITIONAL RESOURCES**Students will be required to purchase a kit for home study and practice, a list of items and suppliers will be provided by the teacher:- Brush Kit $100.00 - Airbrush kit $300 (optional)- Make-up Kit $350.00 (Optional) - Uniform black beauty tunic (can be purchased from beauty department): $50.00 Students are expected to wear black pants and enclosed shoes.

**ADDITIONAL RESOURCES**You will need to provide for yourself the following resources which you will keep when you complete your study:- Essential equipment that will be required to complete this course is 1 make up kit which has an approximate cost of $390. The makeup kits become the physical property of the student, are retained by the student on completion of training and are not consumed during the training. -There is also a eyelash extension kit $150 and a Nail kit $99. You will purchase these kits directly from the manufacturer at trade price. You will be given the information on how to order your kits at your first class. - Additionally, students will also have an opportunity to participate in a final assessment photoshoot. There is a TAFE allocated photographer with an approximate cost of $150 or students may choose to source a photographer of their choice.

Campuses: Sutherland College, Gymea Campus.

**ADDITIONAL RESOURCES**You will need to provide for yourself the following resources which you will keep when you complete your study:- Essential equipment that will be required to complete this course is 1 make up kit which has an approximate cost of $300 - $500 depending on your choice of kit. The make up kits become the physical property of the student, are retained by the student on completion of training and are not consumed during the training. These kits are purchased directly from the manufacturer at trade price, this will be further discussed at the information session and also in your first class. - Additionally, students will also have an opportunity to participate in a final assessment photoshoot.
