- Apply basic principles of marine engineering thermodynamics
- Employ tools, equipment and materials in a shipboard context
- Provide medical first aid on board a vessel

- Prevent and fight fires on board a vessel

- Perform basic marine engineering calculations
- Operate deck machinery and steering gear on a vessel up to 80 metres
