The Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning has been designed to meet the FASEA educational requirements for financial advisers in accordance with the requirements of the Corporations Amendment (Professional Standards of Advisers) Act 2017. The Graduate Diploma is specifically for people currently practising as financial planners who hold a degree or higher qualification, but which is not in a finance field, and for existing advisers who hold a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a finance related field. People who hold a degree in an unrelated field and who wish to become financial advisers can also complete this course to meet FASEA education requirements.Students must complete eight subjects covering behavioural finance, applied financial advice, commercial and corporations law and ethics and professional standards for financial advisers, taxation planning, retirement and estate planning, insurance and superannuation planning and investment planning.Further information about this course is available on the TAFE NSW Degrees website

Standard entry requirements
MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTSTo enter this course you must be in one of the following categories:- an existing financial adviser who holds a degree but it is not in a finance related area;- an existing financial planner who holds a finance related diploma or advanced diploma qualification;- planning to become a financial adviser and hold a degree but it is not in a finance related area.INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTSInternational applicants must meet the minimum eligibility requirements. In addition, international applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate English proficiency at a minimum IELTS level of 6.5 with a minimum level of 6 in any band.
