This short course is designed to enable students to see themselves as leaders in early childhood education and care settings. The course will examine leadership styles and the theoretical underpinnings of leadership and will focus on the concepts of reflective practice, change management, educational leadership and pedagogical leadership. Students will also explore leading with intent, the role of power and the importance of leadership in both professional growth and career planning.The course will be delivered over 12 weeks requiring attendance at lectures and tutorials as well as private study to meet course outcomes.Students who complete this short course will be eligible for advanced standing if they choose to continue their studies and enrol in the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Care (Birth-5).
