This short course is designed to give an introduction to the management and operations of an early childhood education and care setting. Students will learn about the legal requirements of service operation and the associated documentation required. In addition students will gain theoretical and practical skills in leading and managing staff. The course will enhance students’ knowledge of roles and responsibilities in early childhood education and care settings and how to keep up to date with legislative changes. The course will be delivered over 12 weeks requiring attendance at lectures and tutorials as well as private study to meet course outcomes.Students who complete this short course will be eligible for advanced standing if they choose to continue their studies and enrol in the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Care (Birth-5).
