This short course introduces participants to using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for Analysis and Problem Solving. It will cover the practical hands-on use of the software, including; Spatial data editing and updating; performing GIS analysis to solve basic problems and create GIS processes; Spatial data maintenance, archiving and quality control; Metadata creation and editing; and Cartographic map design and presentation.The skills and knowledge acquired from completing this unit would apply to many industries, including natural resource management, asset management and cultural heritage management.
