Part A of this course is approved by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) meeting the requirements for Masters, Deck and Engineer Officer Revalidation. To be eligible for the issue of an Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) approved certificate, candidates must possess an Australian issued Certificate of Competency (CoC). This course is designed for holders of an AMSA issued Certificates of Competency (Engineer, Master and Deck Officers) who do not hold the qualifying sea service. Part C of this course is to revalidate an engineering Certificate of Competency at the grade of Engineer class 1, Engineer class 2 and Engineer Watchkeeper and the sub grade of steam and/or motor. The following certificate will be issued by TAFE NSW to participants who successfully complete the course:• Part A of an AMSA approved Deck and Engineer officer revalidation program,• AMSA approved Advanced firefighting course,• AMSA approved Certificate of proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats other than fast rescue boats, and• Part C of an AMSA approved Engineer officer revalidation course.

Standard entry requirements

A valid or expired, Australian Engineer officer certificate of competency as Engineer class 1, class 2 and Engineer Watchkeeper.
