This qualification reflects professional accounting job roles in financial services and other industries, including tax agents, accounts payable and accounts receivable officers, payroll service providers, and employees performing a range of accounting tasks for organisations in a range of industries. Individuals in these roles apply solutions to a range of often complex problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They apply initiative to plan, coordinate and evaluate their own work and provide guidance to others within defined guidelines.

Provide management accounting information; Provide financial and business performance information; Prepare and administer tax documentation for legal entities; Process financial transactions and extract interim reports; Prepare financial reports to meet statutory requirements; Comply with financial services regulation and industry codes of practice; Apply legal principles in contract and consumer law; Apply legal principles in corporations and trust law; Implement and maintain internal control procedures; Apply economic principles to work in the financial services industry; Process salary packaging arrangements and additional allowances in payroll; Interpret and apply knowledge of taxation systems relevant to payroll; Process complex employee terminations in payroll; Identify situations requiring complex ethical decision making; Establish and maintain accounting information systems; Apply ethical frameworks and principles to make and act upon decisions; Interpret and use financial statistics and tools; Prepare tax documentation for individuals; Evaluate business performance; Process superannuation payments in payroll; Prepare financial reports for corporate entities; Manage budgets and forecasts; Apply legal principles in property law; Develop and use complex spreadsheets; Prepare financial forecasts and projections; Lead effective workplace relationships; Interpret and apply knowledge of industrial regulations relevant to payroll; Work effectively in the accounting and bookkeeping industry; Prepare financial reports
