Diploma of Beauty Therapy

TAFE NSW

This qualification is part of the Beauty Training Package. It reflects the role of individuals employed as beauty therapists to provide a broad range of beauty therapy treatments and services including facial treatments, body massage and treatments, hair removal, lash and brow treatments, nail and make-up services.

Entry Requirements:

Applicants must be able to communicate and work with others in a manner appropriate to the personal services industry, presentable, well-groomed, organised and willing to learn new skills as technologies and trends change.

Structure:

25 units: 13 core; 12 elective

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Provide body massages; Provide body treatments; Provide lash and brow services; Provide facial treatments and skin care recommendations; Provide specialised facial treatments; Provide waxing services; Design and apply make-up; plus more. Elective: Provide hair reduction treatments using electrical currents; Provide aromatherapy massages; Prepare personalised aromatic plant oil blends for beauty treatments; Determine resource requirements for the micro business; plus more.

Further information:

Applicants must possess Australian Core Skills Framework levels of at least 3 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication, and numeracy skills to successfully complete this program. Students who do not possess these skills to the level required will be enrolled in additional subjects to build the required skills.
