This qualification is part of the Metal and Engineering Training Package. It is intended for people interested in exposure to an engineering or related working environment with a view to entering into employment in that area. This qualification will equip graduates with knowledge and skills which will enhance their prospects of employment in an engineering or related working environment.

TAFE Queensland Gold Coast has a dedicated international team servicing its international students, as well as an IELTS testing facility. Students completing a specialised English program can enter directly into a certificate or diploma course. Free student support services and commercial training facilities are available.
