TAFE Queensland Gold Coast

This qualification is part of the Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package. It provides a trade outcome in shopfitting. The qualification has compulsory requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as a specialist field of work. Training is undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment.

Entry Requirements:

Year 10 or equivalent; Admission may be on the basis of maturity and other relevant work experience


30 units: 19 core; 11 elective

Core: Work effectively and sustainably in the construction industry; Carry out measurements and calculations; Read and interpret plans and specifications; Use construction tools and equipment; Apply basic levelling procedures; plus more. Electives: Construct bulkheads; Calculate and cost construction work; Operate elevated work platforms; Install furnishing products; Use computer-controlled machinery; Set up, operate and maintain CNC sizing machines; plus more.
