This qualification is part of the Metal and Engineering Training Package. It is for trainees in manufacturing, engineering and related industry areas. Students will gain the base level competencies required by an operator working in these areas. They will acquire skills and knowledge in workplace communication, occupational health and safety, quality procedures and planning, plus some specific industry skills in a production or process area. This course targets early school leavers and is delivered in the workplace, school to work and access programs.

Year 10 or equivalent

Core: Apply principles of occupational health and safety in the work environment; Plan to undertake a routine task; Apply quality procedures; Work with others in a manufacturing, engineering or related environment. Plus electives.
