This qualification enables individuals to select a livestock production or cropping context as a job focus or, in the case of mixed farming enterprises, both.

Structure:

2 core units plus 14 elective units.

Core: Contribute to OHS processes; Implement and monitor environmentally sustainable work practices. Electives: Work effectively in an emergency disease or plant pest response; Establish agricultural crops; Prepare and apply chemicals; Carry out feedlot operations; Identify and draft livestock; Rear newborn and young livestock; Care for and train working dogs; Monitor pen condition and ration suitability; Operate broadacre sowing machinery and equipment; Carry out movement and security procedures; Use business technology; Respond to wildfire; plus more.
