Certificate II in Automotive Underbody Technology


This qualification is part of the Automotive Retail, Service and Repair Training Package. It reflects the role of individuals who perform a limited range of tasks on the underbody systems of a variety of vehicles in the automotive retail, service and repair industry.

Entry Requirements:

No minimum education


14 units: 8 core; 6 elective

Core: Diagnose and repair exhaust systems; Inspect and service suspension systems; Inspect and service steering systems; Inspect and service braking systems; Use and maintain tools and equipment in an automotive workplace; Follow environmental and sustainability best practice in an automotive workplace; plus more. Electives: Inspect and service automatic transmissions; Inspect and service manual transmissions; Remove, inspect, repair and refit light vehicle tyres and tubes; Carry out basic gas metal arc welding; Machine brake drums and brake disc rotors; plus more.
