At The University of Notre Dame Australia, we are committed to helping students become professionals who are in great demand in the workforce and this is especially true of our Education double degrees. The Bachelor of Education (Secondary)/Bachelor of Behavioural Science provides students with the qualifications to work with students aged from 12 to 17 years in Catholic, Independent and Government schools. As part of your studies, you will complete 32 weeks of school-based practical experience and also choose a teaching Major in addition to your Behavioural Science Major.

Structure

Must complete a minimum of 1025 Units of Credit, which includes the following elective and compulsory Courses (see Appendix A): • 75 Units of Credit from three (3) Core Curriculum Courses • 275 Units of Credit from compulsory Education Courses • 200 Units of Credit from an Education Major • 300 Units of Credit from compulsory Behavioural Science Courses • 175 Units of Credit from elective Courses.

Standard entry requirements

  • Applicants with recent Secondary Education: Indicative ATAR of 80 with a score of 50+ in ATAR English, ATAR Literature or ATAR English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD)
  • Or Minimum International Baccalaureate (IB) score of 28. Applicants with Higher Education Study: Other university studies completed at undergraduate level or higher, a minimum of 4 successfully completed subjects. Applicants with Vocational Education and Training (VET) study: Completed AQF Diploma or higher in a relevant discipline, from an accredited provider such as TAFE or a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

All teacher education students in WA are required to sit the national Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students (LANTITE) and demonstrate the required minimum level of personal literacy and numeracy prior to graduation.
