The Bachelor of Accounting is a comprehensive program which prepares students to meet the standards required by the main accounting professional organisations in Australia and to enter the profession. Students completing the program will have a thorough knowledge of the theoretical and practical skills required to provide competent advice to clients in a climate of improving professional standards. Students will engage in a curriculum that is based on professional competence, underpinned by a comprehensive ethical base.
The Bachelor of Accounting generally takes three years to complete on a full-time basis. It is also available on a part-time basis (Domestic students only). 3 courses (units) in the Core Curriculum plus four business foundation courses, followed by 11 accounting courses, a business internship, followed by a further 5 elective courses.
Standard entry requirements
- Year 12 or equivalent
- Admissions interview
- Mature age applicants should achieve completion of a pre-university course at an approved college/TAFE, or a satisfactory result in the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT)
Students who demonstrate higher levels of ability may be invited to undertake an additional Honours year. Applicants may consider a Notre Dame Australia enabling program as an alternative entry pathway.
