The program is ideal for non-science backgrounds seeking an understanding of the fundamental biological sciences that underpin human health and wellbeing, including human anatomy and physiology, molecular biology and genomics, and gain and understanding of the fundamentals of health and medical research.A range of learning activities and strategies will be employed to promote active learning. For example, Human Body 1 and 2 are delivered through lectures integrating Anatomy and Physiology, complemented by small tutorial groups, where students will be consolidating their understanding of the human body using dissected anatomy specimens.By working in small groups, students will have the opportunity to explore in depth the physiological mechanisms underpinning the functions of the human body and to integrate knowledge across disciplines, to enhance students’ understanding of the basis of health and disease.Assignments will integrate theory and work practice, with students researching, preparing and communicating a report on a selected topic.There are no Practicum or Internship requirements in the Graduate Certificate in Medical Sciences.
