There are two entry points for the degree. For graduates with academic or employment backgrounds in economics or agricultural economics there is a fast track program that builds on your existing knowledge base. For those who wish to change careers and do not have a background in economics, agricultural economics or business, there is a comprehensive program to develop your skills rapidly in the first six months of the program. Graduates from the degree leave with the technical skills to make leading contributions in areas of policy development, economic analysis, and the means to drive business profitability; and are well positioned to rapidly advance their career.

Entry requirements

  • a Bachelors degree, or an equivalent qualification, as recognized by UWA and
  • the equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 50 percent and
  • completed prior studies at a tertiary level with significant content in economics, statistics/econometrics or mathematics or
  • in a related cognate discipline, as recognized by UWA.
