The Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarships (CAS) are available to Indigenous students to assist with the high costs of relocating to undertake higher education. While the CAS have been replaced by the Relocation Scholarships (administered by Centrelink), they will continue to be offered to Indigenous students in their existing form.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must: be Indigenous Australian citizens of low socio-economic status; be commencing or undertaking a undergraduate program or a graduate diploma in an area of National Priority as full-time Commonwealth supported students; be from a rural or regional area; not have previously completed a bachelor degree or equivalent (except where it is an entry requirement for the current course); and be in receipt of a Commonwealth income support payment or demonstrate financial hardship. Tenure is dependent on satisfactory progress.
