Advanced Diploma of Game Design and Development
An Advanced Diploma of Game Design and Development is where ideas become playable reality, building the core skills needed to start your career in the gaming industry. Built on three core pillars – asset production, game ideation and design and game project management – this course develops the creative, technical and collaborative expertise required to bring games and interactive experiences to life. Explore the principles and practices of professional asset production while gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and game engines, supported by practical studio-based learning, theory, and critical discussion. You’ll operate in team-based studio environments, using agile project management methodologies to deliver projects of increasing scope and complexity. Collaborate with game programming students on cross-disciplinary briefs, sharpening your communication, problem-solving and teamwork capabilities.

Structure
Delivered both on campus and online, this course comprises of 10 core subjects and two elective subjects, each subject requiring 10 hours of study per week (made up of classes and self-directed study). Assessments may include activity-based assignments or online quizzes. There are no formal exams.
Entry requirements
- Australian secondary school certificate, or equivalent OR Successful completion of a Vocational qualification (AQF Level 5), or above OR Successful completion of at least 0.25 EFTSL at AQF level 6 or above, or equivalent OR Work life experience demonstrating the ability to undertake study at the required level which may include approval of prior study or successful completion of a readiness assessment.
