Graduate Diploma of Nursing Science

The University of Adelaide

The Graduate Diploma in Nursing Science provides registered nurses with the essential knowledge and practical skills necessary to consolidate their nursing practise and augment their clinical experience. The diploma is highly flexible and offers a choice of electives from a wide range of nursing specialisations, allowing nurses to adapt their study to their individual areas of interest. All courses are delivered online with no compulsory attendance on campus, ensuring the program is particularly suitable for rural or remote nurses, as well as for nurses who are not yet working in a specialty. With strong links to industry and taught by experts in their fields, the diploma offers an insight into a variety of nursing specialisations and provides a deeper understanding of the career opportunities available within these areas. Developing the research skills and professional knowledge required for further study is another key component of the program. The Graduate Diploma in Nursing Science (without specialisation) is available to nurses who are registered in their home country, and to nurses who are not currently practicing. Graduates are prepared for advanced practice and can move into more senior positions, such as clinical practice nurse and team leader roles, across both clinical and community practice settings.
