This course will introduce the students to a comprehensive overview of the skills and knowledge required in a variety of IT roles. Students will learn how to work with clients and to analyze and manage IT requirements, engage in problem-solving and in-depth analysis of business needs, identify technological issues, and recommend cost-effective system and software solutions. In addition, they can get a stand of specialisations, such as enterprise systems, IT consulting, health informatics, business analysis, project management, business intelligence or business management. Students will acquire skills in business process design to transform business and government organisations using technology. In addition, they will gain the foundational skills and knowledge needed by all IT professionals both in technology and business. Students will have the opportunity for an intensive, extended work-integrated learning experience or an in-depth major; the capstone project will allow them to practice their business analysis skills for a business or government client. BBI graduates may seek a range of roles in business IT, including work as a business analyst, systems analyst, project manager, project officer, web content manager, BI specialist, business analytics consultant, information analyst, technology manager and consultant.

Entry Requirements:

Year 12 or equivalent. English Language Requirements: An overall Academic IELTS of 6.0 or equivalent, with no band score below 6.0. Assumed Knowledge: Basic knowledge and skills in ICT (Information and Communication Technology); Basic numeracy and literacy skills.

High performing students may be eligible for enrolment in the Honours in Information Sciences course.
