This course will position students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to embark on a career in one of the core disciplines of business. It prepares students for a world where business, economic activity, and society, are increasingly dependent upon services and service systems. In this rapidly changing landscape, successful businesses, organisations, government, and social enterprises must learn to adopt a service perspective upon their activities to ensure they create value for their customers and stakeholders. Students will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage the operational, technological, and human aspects of service businesses. Students will learn how to adopt a broader service perspective on economic activity to allow them to thrive in an environment with rapidly changing business models and ways of creating value. Students will also be prepared for a world based upon transformation, where the importance of linking and improving individual, organisational, community, and societal well-being is increasingly being considered by both businesses and government. To achieve this, students will be encouraged to tackle complex service problems by utilising and synthesizing concepts and ideas from multiple business disciplines. Graduates of the service management major will have an impressive knowledge base and durable skillset to enable them to lead and thrive in the emerging service society.

Year 12 or equivalent. English Language Requirements: An overall Academic IELTS of 6.0 or equivalent, with no band score below 6.0.

Students may also choose from a wide range of elective breadth majors.

High performing students may be eligible for entry into the Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) course.
