This program is a comprehensive four-year degree designed to meet the criteria for accreditation as a professional engineer with Engineers Australia (EA) and as ICT professional with Australian Computer Society (ACS). The course provides education in core areas of network and software engineering to produce multi-skilled graduate engineers, who can fill the growing demands of the merging information and telecommunications industry. Students acquire in-depth knowledge and skills on design, development, and implementation of a range of software based systems over communication network infrastructures. Graduates gain technical skills in data communications and networking, mobile and wireless communications, network security and the proliferation of networked applications and services relating to cloud computing, big data and multimedia. With a strong background in telecommunications and software engineering, and induction into research, graduates will be prepared to design, implement and operate communication networks and the associated services and applications assuring the appropriate security and quality mechanisms. With flexible delivery and internships, the course is completed with an industry-oriented engineering project. Graduates will be able to apply cross-cutting skills to the design and management of networked projects in a wide range of sectors such as communications, audio-visual, recreational, automobile telematics, industrial control and home automation. Career prospects for Network and Software Engineers are excellent, both in Australia and overseas.

Year 12 or equivalent. English Language Requirements: An overall Academic IELTS of 6.0 or equivalent, with no band score below 6.0. Assumed Knowledge: Specialist Maths (Recommended) (T) or Mathematical Methods (T) , or equivalent.
