This course is for international students who are creative and interested in design but concerned about their English language skills. The course opens a direct pathway to a Bachelor of Design, or any of the faculty's suite of design degrees, from which students can focus on any design field they wish. In this course students will learn creative thinking skills; develop an understanding of visual communication; become familiar with design technology; be introduced to 2D and 3D design; investigate and develop design projects; work in a design studio environment; and develop the knowledge and skills needed to enter the design industry.

Year 12 or equivalent. English Language Requirements: An overall academic IELTS of 5.5 or equivalent.

Subjects include: English: Language and Culture; Computing (general); Mathematics (general). Students also choose from one of three streams: Management (Building & Construction), Built Environment or Communication (for Design).

Study Pathways:

Graduates will have direct entry into the second year of the Bachelor of Building & Construction Management, Bachelor of the Built Environment or Bachelor of Design programs.
