Moreover, UNE is currently the only provider of an undergraduate NESA-accredited degree that offers Agriculture as a teaching area.Our coursework is contemporary and well-rounded, ensuring you are ready to enter the profession with specialist STEM knowledge and real-world skills to pursue a rewarding teaching career.

Structure

To qualify for the award a candidate must pass units to the value of 192 credit points which includes 80 days of embedded professional experience in the designated teaching areas. Candidates are required to pass 48 credit points of discipline units prior to commencing any curriculum unit and/or their first professional experience placement.

Standard entry requirements

Entry is based on recent secondary (ATAR), higher education (GPA), VET study, or work experience. Assumed Year 12 knowledge: any 2 units in English and and any 2 units of Mathematics (or overseas equivalent). English language requirements must also be met.

Recognition

On completion of the Bachelor of Education (Secondary STEM) you will have a qualification accredited with the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA), providing graduates with a professional qualification meeting the requirements of the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) for initial teacher education programs, and ensures all graduates meet the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers at the Graduate Career Stage.

Study pathways

Students may be eligible for credit (advanced standing) for previously completed studies. An exit pathway is available for eligible students.
