To qualify for the award, and except with the permission of the School, a candidate shall pass units to the value 72 credit points including a minimum of 36 credit points at 500-level as specified in Schedule A or Schedule B;To qualify for the award candidates admitted under rule (g) shall pass units to the value of 72 credit points at 500-level, as specified in Schedule C.

Standard entry requirements

This course is offered under seven admission rules.Rule A: You have completed a four-year pre-service teaching qualification (AQF Level 7 or overseas equivalent).If you are admitted on this basis, you will be eligible for admission under Rule A. Please see the Rule A Course Structures (Programs of Study).Rule B: You have completed a Bachelor qualification (AQF Level 7) and a one or two-year pre-service teaching qualification (AQF Level 8 or 9) or overseas equivalent.If you are admitted on this basis, you will be eligible for admission under Rule B. Please see the Rule F Course Structures (Programs of Study).Rule G: You meet ALL of the following entry requirements:You have completed a four-year pre-service teaching qualification (AQF Level 7) or a Bachelor qualification (AQF Level 7) and a one or two-year pre-service teaching qualification (AQF Level 8 or 9) or overseas equivalentsAND you have a minimum of three years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) professional experience as a middle leader, head teacher, or other senior leadership role in a school context.If you are admitted on this basis, you will be eligible for admission under Rule G. Please see the Rule G Course Structures (Programs of Study).* If you are admitted under Rule C based on a Graduate Certificate in eLearning, Graduate Certifiacte in Digital Learning, Graduate Certificate in Education Studies (TESOL) or Graduate Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages you may choose to specialise in the same or a different area, or not specialise. If you are admitted under Rule C on the basis of any other Graduate Certificate you must choose a different specialisation, or not specialise.† If you are admitted under Rules E or F you cannot undertake the Indigenous Australian Education or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL-EAL/D) specialisations.

Further information

Students undertaking the Special Education and TESOL specialisations will be required to meet requirements for professional experience in an educational setting.This will include a Working with Children Check, completion of online Anaphylaxis training and a Child Protection module.
