Structure

  • A candidate for the degree shall pursue a course of 72 credit points, consisting of Program A or B as approved by the Committee.For candidates enrolled under Admission Rule (c) Program A will apply.For candidates enrolled under Admission Rule (a), (b) or (d), Program B will apply.Programs of StudyProgram AOn the approval of the HDR Coordinator, a candidate must complete a thesis to the value of 72 credit points (EDUC599D).Program BOn the approval of the HDR Coordinator, a candidate must complete units to the value of at least 72 credit points:(a) course work to the value of 24 credit points: EDRM501, EDRM502 and 12 credit points of listed units in the Master of Education at 500 level, plus:(b) thesis or portfolio to the value of 48 credit points (EDUC599C:48)
  • and(c) In special circumstances and with the approval of the supervisor and HDR Coordinator, a candidate may substitute another unit for a prescribed unit, where it has been deemed that the candidate has completed an equivalent unit in a previous award
  • and(d) The examination grade of each course work unit shall be recorded on the candidate's official transcript.

Standard entry requirements

Bachelor qualification (AQF Level 7 or overseas equivalent) in Education.Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma (AQF Level 8 or overseas equivalent) in a relevant discipline. You must also have had adequate relevant preparation since graduation.*Master of Education (AQF Level 9 or overseas equivalent).
