This course can provide a formal qualification in the field of economics for graduates with little background in the discipline, or it can act as a refresher course in economics for those whose initial studies occurred some time ago. It is also a broadening course for those who wish to extend their knowledge of economics into areas not previously studied such as Economic Development, Economic Policy, Agricultural and Resource Economics or Advanced Economic Theory.

Entry Requirements:

A Bachelor qualification in a relevant or non-relevant discipline. Relevant disciplines include but are not limited to: Business; Economics; Economic Statistics.


48 credit points (equivalent to 8 standard units) including core units, and completion of a Major. A student's program of study and credit points to be completed are determined by the qualification used as the basis of admission.

Study Pathways:

This course is an articulation pathway to the Master of Economics. Students may be eligible for credit (advanced standing) for previously completed studies.

College accommodation

UNE’s residential accommodation currently consists of eight colleges and a village of self-contained units. Accommodation ranges from the more traditional college with meals included and shared bathroom facilities, to the more independent, self-contained flats at Wright Village and UNE’s new Wright College , which provides modern studio apartments complete with your own kitchen and bathroom facilities.
