This flexible study qualification provides a a comprehensive set of skills in the key fields of business analytics, decision making, ethics, management, marketing and strategy needed to operate in a globalised economy. The focus of our 12 unit MBA program is to give you a broad and contemporary perspective on management challenges in leading people and making decisions. A range of units may be selected as part of a student's MBA, or students can choose to complete the major in Human Resource Management which is accredited by the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI). An option is available for students to undertake a major research project which can enable strong candidates to move on to PhD studies. The MBA program will challenge students to think in new ways and encourage application of that learning immediately. From day one, students will be test their knowledge against the real world, integrating it into their thinking and becoming a more effective and adaptable manager in the process.

Entry Requirements:

Bachelor qualification in a relevant or non-relevant discipline and at least two years of full-time equivalent relevant professional experience; or a Graduate Certificate in Management from UNE or equivalent plus at least two years full-time equivalent relevant professional experience; or an Honours qualification in a relevant discipline and at least two years full time equivalent relevant professional experience; or a Masters degree or above in a relevant discipline and at least two years of full time equivalent relevant professional experience. All applicants must submit two referee reports from employers or senior colleagues (on company letterhead) plus a resume. Relevant disciplines include, but are not limited to: Business; Management. Relevant professional experience refers to a position of responsibility in any organisational or industry context.

Structure:

72 credit points (equivalent to 12 standard units) including core units, and either listed units (which may include a Dissertation) or the Human Resource Management Major. A student's program of study and credit points for completion are determined by the qualification used as the basis for admission.

Study Pathways:

Graduates who have undertaken Dissertation units may be eligible to apply for admission to PhD candidature. Students may be eligible for credit (advanced standing) for previously completed studies. Exit pathways are available for eligible students.

College accommodation

UNE’s residential accommodation currently consists of eight colleges and a village of self-contained units. Accommodation ranges from the more traditional college with meals included and shared bathroom facilities, to the more independent, self-contained flats at Wright Village and UNE’s new Wright College , which provides modern studio apartments complete with your own kitchen and bathroom facilities.
