To qualify for the award a candidate must pass units to the value of 96 credit points including 48 credit points at 500-level and 60 days embedded professional experience in their designated teaching area(s).

Standard entry requirements

In your Bachelor qualification you have achieved a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.0.During your previous higher education studies you have undertaken units meeting the NESA Subject Content Knowledge Requirements for at least one First Teaching Area in the secondary school curriculum.*You can satisfy the School of Education of your suitability for teaching by completing a Personal Statement.

Recognition

NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). UNE bases its degree structures on the NESA guidelines, under the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership framework for teacher registration. Students should note that teacher registration requirements vary from state to state.

Study pathways

Students may be eligible for credit (advanced standing) for previously completed studies. An exit pathway is available for eligible students.
