Armidale Golf Club Sport Award

University of New England (UNE)

The recipient, having a keen interest in golf will understand the importance of promoting golf not only in this region but with the entire sport in mind. Gold participation levels are falling around the world. Golf, as a sport, needs to be promoted, so our 'Ambassador' for golf within UNE and Armidale will appreciate the importance of the game in: Reducing stress through exercise; Contributing towards a better work-life balance; Expanding possibilities for broad social interaction; Providing an introduction to a sport they may otherwise hesitate to try.

Eligibility

Applicants must: be Australian citizens or permanent residents as defined by the Commonwealth; be enrolled in an undergraduate degree (as first preference) or postgraduate degree at the University of New England; be able to demonstrate sporting achievement at a high level; hold an AGU handicap and be a single figure handicap golfer; and be aware of the level of commitment required and that the holder will be regarded as the Ambassador for Golf within UNE and Armidale.

Amount $1,500

The award is valued at $1,500 for 1 year.
