The combined Bachelor of Environmental Engineering (Honours)/Bachelor of Science will equip you with the knowledge to be at the forefront of these conversations, and ultimately, have an impact on our health and quality of life. Most of the critical issues that face our society today require science to help find the right solutions for our current and future generations. You will combine the foundations of science, chemistry, geomechanics and hydrology to find solutions to complex environmental problems. Our environmental engineers learn to work with other specialists. This ensures that they can optimise resource use and minimize long-term impacts on the environment.

Structure

The Bachelor of Environmental Engineering (Honours)/Bachelor of Science is a five year program, students are required to complete 400 units, which is comprised of: - 270 units of Core courses; - 0-unit compulsory Industrial Experience; - 10 units of project courses; - 10 units from the Environmental Engineering course list; - 70 units of courses for the Earth Sciences Major (10 units of Core courses also count towards the major for a total of 80 units): 40 units of Compulsory courses; 10 units from the course list taken at the 2000 level; 20 units from the course list taken at the 3000 level; and; 40 units of Elective courses. The Earth Sciences Major is the only Bachelor of Science Major available in this combined program.

Entry requirements

  • Admission to this program is available to Australian citizens and residents only. Eligibility for admission to this program is based on applicants meeting the minimum selection rank, or satisfying the requirements for an approved admission scheme.

Recognition

The program is accredited by Engineers Australia. Graduates of this program are able to join as graduate members on completion, and as student members during studies.
