The Master of Professional Engineering (Geospatial Engineering and Surveying) program offers students the opportunity to broaden their technical competence either in another discipline (such as disaster management, environmentalmanagement, sustainability, water engineering, safety and risk) or to deepen their competence in the program discipline (including advanced surveying, geodesy and geopositioning, GPS/GNSS technology, spatial data systems andinformation technology, geospatial analysis). The program may also be used to strengthen a student’s technical capacity based on any gaps in their prior knowledge, and to expose students to Australian practices in surveying, town planning, construction management, spatial information technology and engineering.

Structure

Students completing the 2 Year MPE (Geospatial Engineering and Surveying) must complete 160 units, which is comprised of 90 unts of core courses and 70 units of directed courses.

Graduates from the University of Newcastle or another institution with a Bachelor Degree (AQF 7) in Surveying AND a Newcastle calculated GPA of 4.5 or above
