The Bachelor of Science degree provides the content knowledge for two teaching areas whilst the Bachelor of Education (Secondary) provides the necessary skills, knowledge and practical experiences required for teacher registration and employment. The Bachelor of Science/Education degree offers a wide range of teaching area (Bachelor of Science major) options. Students benefit from a thorough preparation for their teaching areas combined with, and informed by, their professional studies in the area of education.

Entry Requirements:

Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent) English; Mathematics B; either Chemistry or Physics. From 2018 applicants to education programs in Australia must complete non-academic entry criteria. The process is currently under development - please check QTAC's advice.

Structure:

64 units: 32 units from science and 32 units from education; 10 days school experience; 90 days of supervised practicum.

From 2017, commencing students are required to successfully meet the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) standards prior to graduation. Students must complete 10 days school experience and 90 days supervised practicum.
