There is currently a tremendous growth in the international biotechnology industry and allied service sector. Research and development managers require scientists with core technical skills, knowledge of commercial imperatives and current regulatory environments. This Masters program is designed for scientists who want to update their technical and research skills in core areas such as molecular biology, protein technology or bioinformatics, and who wish to acquire more extended research laboratory research than is available through the three semester MBiotech. The program will provide a strong training for entry to a PhD.

Entry Requirements:

32-unit program: Bachelor degree in any field, with UQ or equivalent GPA of 5 or above on a 7 point scale; 24-unit program: An approved equivalent Bachelor degree in Biotechnology, Science, Bioinformatics, Pharmacy, Agriculture, Medicine or Engineering with GPA of 5 or above on a 7 point scale; or Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in Biotechnology with GPA of 5 or above on a 7 point scale; 16-unit program: An approved equivalent Bachelor degree (Honours) in Biotechnology, Science, Bioinformatics, Pharmacy or Engineering; or Bachelor degree in a relevant field incorporating a major research project with GPA of 5 or above on a 7 point scale; or an additional postgraduate qualification incorporating a major research project, or other significant research experience
