UQ's School of Economics works with schools across the university to provide an interdisciplinary learning experience for the Master of Development Economics, with teaching provided by a host of experts in the field. During your studies you will learn how to address one of the most critical problems facing humanity: how to create thriving and sustainable economies to overcome poverty and inequality. You will also look at the other important issues facing the developing world, from population to health and environment. Study our one and a half year 24 unit program, designed for applicants with an economics, business or commerce background, and you will gain specialist skills in economic modelling and statistical techniques, as well as advanced knowledge of the forces that affect developing economies. Both master's will provide a qualification that is in demand for roles domestically and internationally in both the private and public sectors.

A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in the same discipline with a grade point average (GPA) of 4.5, approved by the Executive Dean or a Graduate Certificate in Economics from UQ with a GPA of 4.5.
