The scholarship was established in 2009 and is maintained by an annual gift for 5 years from Alumina Quality Workshop Inc. The Alumina Quality Workshop Inc is an association of Australian based alumina producers, whose members are: Alcoa World Alumina, Worsley Alumina Pty Ltd - BHP-Billiton, Rio Tinto Alcan, UC RUSAL and Queensland Alumina Ltd. AQW's key objectives include fostering technology development, research and education for the betterment of the alumina refining industries, particularly in Australia.
Eligibility
Applicants must: be Australian citizens or permanent residents; be enrolled in the final year of an approved undergraduate Engineering program, in the field of chemical and metallurgical engineering. Selection is based on personal qualities and leadership qualities.
