This program gives students a competitive edge by combining law with history and global politics. Students graduate with professional honours and an advanced understanding of legal principles, including the opportunity to experience an industry or clinic placement, undertake a law reform project or conduct high level research in their final year. In the on-campus Legal Advice Clinic students gain valuable experience, solving the legal problems of real clients under the guidance of a managing solicitor. In the arts studies students explore the global contexts of politics and history which includes Australia's role domestically, and within the broader currents, of regional and global politics.

Standard entry requirements

  • Qualify for South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) with competitive ATAR
  • OR complete secondary education equivalent to SACE
  • Complete International Baccalaureate Diploma
  • Complete or partially complete higher education program
  • Complete four Open Universities Australia courses at undergraduate level or above
  • Complete a Diploma or above
  • Qualify for special entry
  • Complete a Foundation Studies program AND meet any pre-requisite and academic requirements. International students who speak English as a foreign language must have obtained the required standards prior to admission.

Study pathways

An alternative entry option for Australian students is available through the Foundation Studies program or the Diploma in Business with UniSA College, subject to Grade Point Average (GPA) requirements. Students can also consider the Bachelor of Business (Legal Studies). International students can consider the Bachelor of Business (Legal Studies) as an alternative pathway.

If students wish to seek admission to practise law in South Australia they must satisfy a number of specified course requirements in their degree, followed by the completion of Practical Legal Training.
