UniSA Women in Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics Scholarship

As a legacy of the 25th Birthday in 2016, UniSA launched the 25th Birthday Grant Fund with the aim of raising funds for scholarships and grants in the key areas of equity, excellence, international, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Alumni, staff, and other supporters donated generously through two fundraising appeals and a landmark fundraising Gala Dinner.

Eligibility Requirements

The UniSA Women in Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics Scholarship is open to female Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents of Australia or international students enrolled full-time in the second year of a STEM undergraduate program offered by the Division of Information Technology, Engineering and the Environment, with scholarships awarded to those with high academic achievement (Grade Point Average based on first year of 5.5 or above) and a strong motivation to succeed. Students who cannot enrol full-time due to exceptional circumstances, for example having a disability or significant carer responsibilities, may apply and verify their circumstances during application. Applicants are required to provide a written statement (maximum 500 words) detailing: - Academic achievements (including a Grade Point Average based on first year of 5.5 or above) . - Reasons for studying their current program. - Future career goals. - Evidence of community engagement. - Ability and willingness to act as a UniSA ambassador e.g. occasional attendance at events, and/or involvement in filming or interviews to document the impact of the scholarship and to encourage other females to pursue studies in STEM programs. To receive the scholarship, applicants must demonstrate a passion for their program, strong motivation to succeed and have clear future goals. Shortlisted applicants will be required to provide two character references (at least one of these must be from a referee not connected to the applicant's secondary school), and attend a selection panel interview. Students may be in receipt of another scholarship or grant administered by UniSA.
