Pearce Family Transition Grant

The Pearce Family have made available Transition Grants to assist rural students in the transition to tertiary education.

Eligibility

The grants are available to rural students who have graduated from high school in the last two years and are enrolling at university for the first time. Applicants must be commencing a full time undergraduate degree program in Education (including double degrees) at the University of South Australia and be able to demonstrate financial disadvantage. Grants of $2000 each are available for students from designated rural areas. The eligible programs are: - Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) (MBET) - Bachelor of Education (Primary) (MBET) - Bachelor of Education (Primary and Middle) (MBET) - Bachelor of Education (Secondary Design and Technology) (LBSY) - Bachelor of Education (Secondary Food and Textiles Technologies) (LBSY) Applicants are required to provide a personal written statement (maximum 250 words) detailing: - Reasons for studying their current program. - Academic achievements including ATAR. - Future career goals. - Financial disadvantage or hardship. Evidence of financial disadvantage or hardship such as receipt of a Health Care Card and/or a means-tested Centrelink benefit should accompany the application. Applicants not in receipt of a Health Care Card or a means-tested Centrelink benefit can complete the UniSA Scholarship Assessment Form. The form will be used as a means-test to assess eligibility. Grants will be awarded on academic merit and financial disadvantage.

Amount $2,000

The scholarship is valued at $2,000 to be paid after the Study Period 2 census date.
