The Zonta Club of Adelaide Community Development Grant assists full-time female students of the University of South Australia to undertake community development projects in Australia or overseas that make a positive difference in the lives of women. The funds are to be used for travel and financial support while undertaking the project. The grant aligns with key Zonta objectives to advance the status of women through service and advocacy.

Eligibility

The grant is open to undergraduate and postgraduate coursework continuing students undertaking short term study or short term placement, or participating in a study tour. Preference may be given to students applying to do a project in an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community, South-East Asia or a Pacific Island nation. Applicants are required to submit a cover letter in the form of a personal written statement (maximum 250 words) detailing: - Reasons for studying their current program. - Academic achievements. - Prior community involvement. - Future career goals. In addition, applicants are required to submit a proposal (maximum 500 words) to undertake a community development project that makes a positive difference in the lives of women. The proposal should include a description of a project to be undertaken individually or as part of a team. The project is required to have a clear outcome to benefit women in a disadvantaged community. The project may be a continuation or extension of work previously undertaken by the applicants as part of their studies and should incorporate a completion schedule.
