Learn how to use state of the art methods to assist the diagnosis of the causes of infectious diseases like pneumonia and meningitis, and blood and wound infections. Medical laboratory technicians and technical officers form a critical part of the health team supporting medical scientists, pathologists, doctors, nurses and associated health professionals by performing analyses on patient specimens, to provide information that is vital in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of human disease.
