In 2026, UniSQ will offer one John Ross Clancy Indigenous Student Bursary to support an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student commencing their studies in a bachelor's degree program. The late John Ross Clancy was an advocate for Australian Indigenous affairs, and generously bequeathed funds to UniSQ to advance Australian Indigenous higher education. While John Ross Clancy had many achievements, both he and his wife, Lydia, were active in initiating the Black Women's Action group in the 1970s.
