Academic Entry Criteria: English (4 SA) or equivalent; Mathematics A, B or C (4 SA) or equivalent; Science (4 SA) or equivalent. English Language Proficiency category 5. Non-academic entry criteria: Submission of a 1000-word personal statement, detailing interest in teaching children/young people and involvement in personal learning and leadership activities. All students are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements. If the English language requirements are not met students may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

32 units (28 core courses; 3 specialisation courses; 1 professional development course), including 115 days of professional experience.

Candidates eligible for admission into this program may be eligible for up to 24 units of credit on the basis of successful completion of relevant, equivalent undergraduate level study completed at a recognised university or institution.

Professional experiences provide students with a practical opportunity to put theory into practice. A Working with Children Suitability Check (Blue Card or Exemption Card) is required before professional experience placements can commence if working with children under the age of 18 years of age in QLD. If students are completing professional experience outside of QLD, it is the student's responsibility to meet the requirements of the relevant state or territory.
